Enchanting this season again with a digital show by showcasing a conceptual film
Children of the discordance presented its S/S 2023 collection at Milan Fashion Week. This season, the brand continues to showcase a film in digital format. The collection, entitled "AREA AREA", was themed on Yokohama, the city where designer Hideaki Shikama was born and raised.
AREA AREA is the anthem of Yokohama, from which the designer explored inspiration. The music and skate culture that the designer himself experienced during his real life in the 90s was incorporated into the details of the collection.
As a port city, Yokohama is historically a melting pot of US West Coast culture, reggae and hip-hop. The collection features many motifs and prints reminiscent of graffiti and custom car pinstripes. Skaters, surfers and other strong individual characters are present in each look, creating the atmosphere of the late 1990s, when rave culture was booming in Japan.
The music video style film presented this time features rapper Hideyoshi. It also features crews who have close relationships with the brand and designers, and is well worth watching
