TaigaTakahashi has presented its Spring/Summer 2023 collection entitled 'In The Presence of Absence'.

For this season, the brand has explored the links between the rationality of mass-produced workwear, which developed in the USA about 100 years ago in the context of the capitalist society, and the spirituality of the Japanese traditional garment, the kimono. While straight-line stitching and cutting and flat patterns bring simplicity, elements such as beautiful silhouettes created by those structures are incorporated into the ENGINEER COAT and leather jackets, which are the brand's staple items.

The items, which are produced in the modern age, but give a sense of hidden history, may be a question or an antithesis to the modern demand for speed.

This collection is the last season of designer and contemporary artist Taiga Takahashi, who passed away in April 2022 due to a fatal arrhythmia.
