Text Takaaki Miyake
Both past and latest books, as well as unpublished works, will be displayed at the events
Having started making animated music videos in 2011, the artist Okubo Ryu is currently seeking more free expression and continues to present 'sequential art' using various media such as drawing, painting, moving images and video games.
To celebrate the launch of the book "STRUGGLE IN THE SAFE PLACE", pop-up events will be held at NADiff a/p/a/r/t and Daikanyama Tsutaya.
Both venues will exhibit his past and latest books, as well as other related books, drawings and three-dimensional works. The events should be a rare opportunity to discover the unique worldview of the artist, showcasing works that were not shown at his solo exhibition "Struggle In The Safe Place" held at Gallery PARCEL in Bakurocho, Tokyo, in April.
