The opening exhibition features the work of 13 internationally leading artists

SOSU Co., Ltd, which owns brands including Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO and Myne, will open a cross-cultural space for diverse artists ‘NACC/Nihonbashi Anarchy Cultural Center' on 10 September for a limited time of a year.

Based in Nihonbashi, where urban development is progressing, the space will aim to seed a new culture through chemical reactions born at this "playground" of various forms of self-expression, including art, music, architecture, film, photography and fashion.

Johan Huizinga argues that play is central to civilization, that it precedes and forms the basis for human culture in his book 'Homo Ludens'. The idea is that the play element is the essence of human activity and the source of culture, as more than a life-sustaining activity, enriching life.

Based on this philosophy, 'Nihonbashi Anarchy Cultural Center' will exhibit a work by artists with a different method of expression every month and a half from the opening, showcasing 13 artists for the grand opening.

Alongside the exhibition of artworks, there will also be a flower shop specialising in dyed flowers, a space selling coffee beans as well as a retail space for NACC-exclusive items, art books and other goods, and other contents unique to this 'playground'.
