Reproducing vintage materials in a modern and functional way
N.HOOLYWOOD COMPILE has revealed its latest look and film in a digital format at both RUNWAY360, organised by the CFDA, and NYFW: The Shows, organised by IMG again this season.
For this season, the collection focused on mass-produced vintage materials while the designer Daisuke Ohana, who is also known as a vintage collector himself, explains that he spends more time with his owned clothes than before in the midst of the pandemic.
However, instead of using vintage materials in the collection, it utilises modern technology that allows right amount of production, but also reproduces those vintage look and feel while adding functional updates to the fabric. By adopting patterning techniques often used in womenswear, such as draping, it gives the basic menswear design a fuller look and incorporates comfort and unique shapes into the collection.
